Being sporty en route

Cycling to BER

BER Airport can be reached by bike via several routes around the area. One route, for example, leads from train station "Schönefeld", parallel to the motorway to Terminals 1-2 via partly well-built and safe cycle paths.

The route is signposted with BIKE2BER During a tour of the airport, the bikes can be parked in front of Terminals 1 and 2. And it’s worth it:

  • Our visitor terrace in Terminal 1 offers interesting views of the airport apron.
  • The pop-up exhibition “Der Raum vom Fliegen” (The Room of Aviation) on the ground floor of Terminal 1 invites visitors to take a journey through the creation of BER and the history of flying.
  • There are various catering options in the public area of the terminals, as well as on Willy-Brandt-Platz itself.

For passengers with bicycles

  • If you want to take your bicycle with you on the plane, you have to check it in as oversized baggage. This takes up additional time at check-in.
  • Every airline has their own regulations about the transport of bicycles. This concerns prior registration of the bicycle, a weight limit, or regulations for packing the bike. Please obtain precise information on this from your airline before travelling.
  • Bicycle boxes or cartons for transport can be purchased at 4-Service. Please inform yourself in advance about the size and availability of the boxes at 4-Service.
