Well prepared for the summer holidays

Published: 17 July 2025, 10:00

The summer holidays in Berlin and Brandenburg begin in a week’s time. From Wednesday 23 July to Sunday 7 September, BER Airport is expecting a total of around 3.7 million passengers.

Once again this year, holiday destinations on the Mediterranean, such as Turkey, Spain, Italy and France, are particularly popular. Palma de Mallorca remains the most popular holiday destination. During the holidays, a total of up to 70 flights a week take off from Eurowings, easyJet, Ryanair and Sundair to the largest Balearic island. Throughout the summer flight schedule, more than 70 airlines will connect BER directly with 150 destinations in 50 countries.

By the start of the holidays, 20 control lanes in Terminals 1 and 2 will already be equipped with new CT scanners, four more than originally planned.

The most important travel tips at a glance

The airport company generally recommends that all holiday travellers arrive at the correct terminal in good time before departure and follow the instructions of the respective airline.

  • BER Runway: From seven days before departure, passengers can book a time slot for access to the security control in Terminal 1 free of charge.

  • Travelling by public transport: The airport company recommends checking the current traffic situation for the day of arrival. Due to construction work, there will be restrictions on the S-Bahn Berlin from 24 July to 4 August. While the S45 line between BER Airport and Südkreuz is expected to run every 10 minutes, the S9 line will not run to BER Airport during this period.
