AIR UNIQON now connects BER with Friedrichshafen, located on Lake Constance in the state of Baden-Württemberg, four times a week. This re-establishes a direct link between the capital region and this important economic and industrial area in southern Germany for the first time in 10 years, closing a significant gap in the domestic German route network. The new route, which is specifically tailored to the needs of business travellers, is scheduled for Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. However, the new route is also attractive to holidaymakers. It enables them to travel quickly and flexibly to a popular holiday region in Germany.
The flight times were designed in collaboration with regional companies on Lake Constance. Attractive early morning and late evening flights, as well as flexible return options, enable day trips and short stays of several days during the week and at weekends. This makes it easy to plan business appointments in both regions around the flight days and times.
The new airline was founded at Friedrichshafen Airport last year with the support of the regional economy. As a virtual airline, it outsources its flights to a partner company. It uses Bombardier Dash 8-400 aircraft, which can accommodate 78 passengers, from the German airline Avanti Air. Flight time is around 90 minutes.
