BER reached an important milestone today by welcoming its 100 millionth passenger shortly before its fifth anniversary. Jessica Metag was the lucky passenger to reach this landmark, boarding an Air France flight from BER to Paris. Before departure, she received congratulations and a flight voucher for two people from BER to Paris, courtesy of István Szabó, Chief Operations Officer of Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH, and Bas 't Hooft, Director of Air France-KLM Germany.
Since the airport opened, 100 million passengers have flown to, from and via BER. Following a slow start due to the pandemic, travel began to recover in 2021 and 2022, with consistent growth in both traffic and passenger numbers. In July 2021, the airport recorded more than one million passengers for the first time, and in September 2022, it recorded more than two million passengers for the first time. 2024 was the strongest year to date, with 25.5 million passengers. 17 October 2025 was the busiest day since BER went into operation, with 101,893 travellers.
BER plays a central role in the transport infrastructure of the Berlin-Brandenburg region and beyond. With its extensive network of routes, BER offers important and attractive tourist and business connections within Germany, Europe and around the world.
