Family visits and holidays to numerous destinations in Turkey once again dominate SunExpress’ schedule this year. The airline, a joint venture between Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines, is flying to a total of ten destinations in the “land of the three seas” from BER in summer 2024. In addition to the established and popular destinations of Adana, Ankara, Antalya, Bodrum, Dalaman, Gaziantep, Izmir and Samsun, Diyarbakir and Kayseri are new additions to the airline’s flight schedule. There are more flights than last year to the particularly popular destinations Ankara and Antalya.

Wide range of flights to Turkey

SunExpress’ flight schedule offers travellers a wide range of holiday options in Turkey, from the beautiful beaches of the Aegean and the Mediterranean coast to majestic mountain regions, fascinating historical sites, idyllic inland landscapes and vibrant metropolises. The country captivates visitors with its cultural diversity and warm hospitality. Turkish cuisine is also very tempting with a variety of regional specialities.

Adana in southern Turkey has a rich culinary tradition, notably the famous Adana Kebap. The city is also home to important historical attractions, such as the ancient Taşköprü Bridge and the Great Mosque, which offer in-depth insights into the city’s long history. Situated on the banks of the Seyhan River, Adana combines an oriental atmosphere with modern city life. There is one flight a week, every Wednesday

The lively capital Ankara is one of Turkey’s most beautiful and exciting destinations. It combines a rich historical heritage with a relaxed urban way of life. Visitors can visit the impressive Atatürk mausoleum, explore historical sites such as the citadel and stroll through the city’s lively bazaars. Nature lovers will find oases of peace in the city’s parks and gardens. SunExpress flies from BER to Ankara twice a week, on Tuesdays and Fridays

Antalya, located on the Turkish Riviera, attracts visitors with its picturesque beaches, turquoise waters, historical sights and vibrant nightlife. The region around Antalya is known for ancient cities such as Perga and Aspendos, which boast well-preserved ancient buildings. Just a stone’s throw away is Side, a historic harbour town and another popular seaside resort. SunExpress will fly from BER to Antalya up to four times a day in summer of 2024.

Bodrum on the Turkish Aegean coast is a popular holiday destination for beach lovers, water sport enthusiasts and history buffs. The city attracts visitors with its picturesque sandy beaches, crystal-clear, deep blue water and abundance of opportunities for sailing, diving, snorkelling and windsurfing. The beautiful landscape and historical sites such as the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, make Bodrum particularly attractive. SunExpress flies from BER to Bodrum once a week, every Friday.

Dalaman on the Lycian Coast is an attractive holiday destination for nature lovers, adventurers, culture enthusiasts and families alike. The city and the region are known for their bubbling thermal springs, wellness hotels and beautiful beaches along the Mediterranean. Visitors can also explore historical sites such as the ancient ruins of Kaunos and discover traditional Turkish villages. SunExpress flies from BER to the Lycian Coast twice a week, on Thursdays and Sundays

Diyarbakir is located on the banks of the Tigris River in the historic region of Mesopotamia. The city is known for its long history, well-preserved historic city walls from the 4th century BC and its lively culture. The mixture of ancient architecture, religious sites and hospitable atmosphere makes it an ideal destination for history and culture lovers. Diyarbakir is a new destination from BER. SunExpress flies to the city in southeast Turkey once a week on Mondays

Gaziantep, one of the oldest cities in the world, enchants visitors with its rich cultural heritage, impressive historical buildings, labyrinthine bazaars and culinary delicacies. The well-preserved old town and the impressive Roman citadel offer historical insights into bygone times. Known for its delicious baklava and a variety of oriental spices, Gaziantep is a foodie paradise. SunExpress flies from BER to Gaziantep twice a week, on Thursdays and Sundays

Kayseri, located in Central Anatolia, is (still) one of Turkey’s lesser-known destinations. Yet, the city in the Cappadocian mountains fascinates with its deep-rooted history, world-famous archaeological sites, cultural treasures and breathtaking scenery. The impressive backdrop of the extinct Erciyes volcano characterises the landscape of the region and provides ideal conditions for outdoor activities such as hiking and skiing in both summer and winter. SunExpress flies to Kayseri once a week. The new connection is on the airline’s flight schedule every Saturday.

Izmir, the lively harbour city on the Aegean, combines Mediterranean serenity with urban charm. Ancient sites such as the mountain fortress of Kadifekale, from the hilltop of which visitors can enjoy a breathtaking view over Izmir, are just as inviting to explore as the pretty historical district of Alsancak, the city’s lively bazaars and the picturesque Kordon promenade. Excursions to the ancient sites of Ephesus with the impressive Temple of Artemis or to Pergamon offer fascinating insights into the rich history of the region. The beautiful beaches are perfect for relaxing, while the coast provides excellent conditions for water sports such as kitesurfing, windsurfing and diving. SunExpress flies from BER to Izmir up to three times a day

The Black Sea region around Samsun impresses with its striking natural landscape and rich cultural history. The scenic coastal city is located between the deep blue Black Sea and the lush, green Pontic Mountains. Picturesque beaches and bays along the coast are perfect for swimming and relaxing, while ancient sites such as the Tekkeköy caves offer insights into the early settlement of the region and a fascinating landscape to explore. The promenade along the coast of Samsun is a popular place for relaxing walks and offers a magnificent view of the Black Sea. SunExpress flies from BER to Samsun once a week, on Tuesdays.
