Travelling to and from the UEFA EURO 2024

UEFA EURO 2024 is taking place in Germany until 14 July. A total of two further matches will take place in Berlin.

  • Saturday, 06.07.2024 - Quarter-finals (The Netherlands - Turkey)
  • Sunday, 14.07.2024 - Final
  • BER Airport is located south-east of the German capital in Brandenburg. All games in Berlin take place at the Olympiastadion in the Berlin district of Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf. 
  • The Fan Zone, consisting of the Football Village and public viewing area is located around the Brandenburg Gate and the Reichstag. 
  • Other important locations for fans are Hammarskjöldplatz at Messe Berlin and Breitscheidplatz at the Gedächtniskirche church. These locations are where fans of the respective national teams meet and prepare for their matches.

There is a well-developed public transport network in the capital region, consisting of regional trains, buses, suburban trains (S-Bahn) and underground trains (U-Bahn).

Public transport tickets

  • You will need an ABC ticket to travel to Berlin city centre or the Olympiastadion by bus or train.
  • Your match ticket may include free use of public transport.
  • You can buy tickets at BER at the red ticket machines or in the VBB app.
  • Information on public transport will also be available from DB employees at the airport information desk on the BER arrivals level.

  • You can either use the suburban railway lines S9/S45 or the regional trains. Or you can take the U7 underground line to Rudow and then continue by bus.

Check-in/baggage drop-off

The most convenient way to check-in is online via your airline’s app or website. You can go straight to security control if you only have hand baggage with you. Security Control

FIf you have checked baggage with you, you can use the Fast Bag Drop. Print out a baggage tag at the machine and then drop off your baggage yourself at the designated counter. Fast Bag Drop

The airport company recommends that all passengers arrive at the respective terminal 2.5 hours before departure and proceed to security control immediately after check-in.

BER Runway – reserve a time slot for security control

Reserve a free time slot for access to security control at BER. With BER Runway, you can go straight through to security control in Terminal 1 at security control lane 4 via using a separate entrance, where your reservation and boarding pass will be checked, and avoid long waiting times.

Shopping, food & drink

You will find numerous shops and food and drink services at Terminal 1 in both the public area and after security. The central Market Place is the heart of this, located directly behind security control in Terminal 1 with around 25 different shops. The Food Court on the Gallery is home to various restaurants offering a variety of food and drinks. In addition to other shops and restaurants, the REWE supermarket and Kamps bakery are open around the clock in Terminal 1’s public area.

Terminal 2 also offers a wide range of shopping and restaurant options. Most things here are also directly behind security control. You’re in for a treat. 

European Championship souvenirs are sold in many shops.

The matches themselves will be broadcast in the cult political pub “Ständige Vertretung (StäV)” and the coffee roastery.
