For your safety hold baggage is checked

Your hold baggage must also be checked before being loaded onto the plane. This takes place automatically after checking in. Your baggage can also be opened in your absence in individual cases. If you have sealed your baggage and it has to be opened, then neither customs, the German Federal Police, the airline nor the airport company are liable for any damage that may be caused.
