The heart of North England

Newcastle upon Tyne and England's northeast combine everything you associate with England: in the city, historic attractions such as Newcastle Castle and the impressive St. Nicholas' Cathedral take you back in time. Charming pubs and the lively Grainger Market exude quintessentially English flair. The passion for football is also at home here – in the legendary St. James' Park. In the surrounding area, castles such as Alnwick Castle and the remains of Hadrian's Wall await history and nature fans. The English coast north of Newcastle is particularly beautiful, while the hinterland in the Northumberland National Park fascinates with green hills and endless expanses.
