„Let it be, let it be...“ – Liverpool is the hometown of the world-famous band The Beatles. Millions of music fans make the pilgrimage to the city in northwest England every year to explore the Cavern Club, Penny Lane and Strawberry Fields. Liverpool was once one of the most important ports of the British Empire. A walk along the Liverpool Waterfront on the banks of the River Mersey evokes memories of days gone by. From here, you have a fantastic view of the so-called ‘Three Graces’: the Royal Liver Building, the Cunard Building and the Port of Liverpool Building. At Pier Head, the legendary Mersey ferries invite you to take a cruise. The waterfront also includes the Albert Dock, a historic warehouse and dock system that is now a modern cultural centre with museums, restaurants, and shops. Liverpool is, of course, also known as a football city and home to the two major football clubs, Liverpool FC and Everton FC, whose stadiums can be visited.
Liverpool is not just an exciting city destination. From here, you can also discover beautiful corners of England and North Wales. Wonderful nature reserves, coastal towns on the Irish Sea and castles are easily accessible by train from Liverpool. The Lake District National Park, north of Liverpool, is a nature lover's paradise and ideal for hiking or boat trips through lakes, rolling hills and meadows. Not to be missed is the legendary seaside resort of Blackpool, known for its lively promenade, piers, and amusement parks. Here one can experience traditional British coastal culture, including fish and chips. South of Liverpool lies North Wales, a region known for its impressive coastline, majestic castles and palaces, and magical landscapes with towering peaks and crystal-clear mountain lakes.
