Pisa – Gateway to Tuscany

Published: 30 May 2024, 14:30

Pisa is one of the smaller, but at the same time one of the most famous cities in Italy and is particularly famous for its Leaning Tower. The iconic 12th century bell tower is definitely worth a visit. In addition, the university city boasts impressive cathedrals, interesting museums and a picturesque old town. Even though the city is not located directly on the coast, the seaside resort of Marina di Pisa is only a stone’s throw from the centre. The former fishing village enchants visitors with its sandy beaches, modern harbour and beautiful promenade.

Pisa lies in the heart of Tuscany. Florence, Siena, the picturesque countryside with its rolling hills and olive groves and the beautiful coast with its long beaches can be explored on day trips or round trips from Pisa.
