A relaxing getaway to Sylt is now just over an hour away from the Berlin metropolitan area. Air Uniqon now offers direct flights twice a week from BER to the popular North Sea island. Every Monday and Thursday, Avanti Air's Bombardier Dash 8-400 aircraft, which can seat 78 passengers, take off for Sylt. The flight times are optimised for travellers who want to make the most of a long weekend on the island. By train, the journey from Berlin Central Station to Sylt, with a transfer in Hamburg, takes between six and seven hours. The route will be served until 5 October.

Sylt

During the summer months, Sylt enjoys plenty of sunshine, making it an ideal destination for a relaxing holiday. Beachgoers and active travellers alike will find what they’re looking for on Sylt. Kilometres of sandy beaches, nature experiences in the Wadden Sea and bike rides along the dunes are just as much a part of the island as its first-class cultural events and lively party atmosphere.

Expansion of the route to Friedrichshafen

The route forms part of a triangular flight between Friedrichshafen, BER and Sylt. With the launch of the Sylt route, an additional day of service will be added to the Friedrichshafen–BER route. Air Uniqon will operate this route on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

Air Uniqon

Air Uniqon is a German aviation start-up operating as a virtual airline without its own Air Operator Certificate (AOC). It specialises in domestic German business travel routes from regional airports. Founded in February 2025, the company began operating flights in January 2026, including the route between Friedrichshafen and BER. As a niche provider in the German aviation market, Air Uniqon deliberately focuses on select direct point-to-point connections.
