airBaltic launches Lapland route and boosts services to the Baltics

airBaltic is launching new flights from BER to Northern Europe, flying to Kuusamo in Finnish Lapland this winter. Those wishing to discover the Baltic States will have even more options this summer. The Latvian airline is expanding its service from Berlin Brandenburg Airport with additional flights to Riga and Vilnius.

To Finnish Lapland in winter

Travellers looking for a holiday destination with guaranteed snow can fly directly to Kuusamo in Finnish Lapland with airBaltic from 12 December. Until 27 March 2027, the airline will offer a weekly service every Saturday to the winter wonderland of northern Finland. The gateway to the Ruka ski resort welcomes winter holidaymakers with perfectly groomed slopes, breathtaking Northern Lights and winter activities such as husky safaris and snowshoe tours.

Expanded service to the Baltics

From now on, airBaltic is flying to Riga, the capital of Latvia, ten times a week. On Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, the service is scheduled twice daily, and once daily on the other weekdays. The flight days and times are perfectly suited to short business trips and also offer ideal opportunities for (long) weekend breaks in the Latvian capital. This makes it easy and flexible to explore Riga, with its impressive Art Nouveau architecture and lively nightlife. Furthermore, the Riga hub provides excellent access to many other destinations in the region.

Vilnius, the charming capital of Lithuania, is now accessible three times a week with airBaltic. Every Monday, Thursday and Sunday, flights depart for this vibrant metropolis, which is still considered a real insider’s tip in the Baltics. The “Rome of the East” captivates visitors with its Baroque old town, winding alleyways, cosy cafés and hidden courtyards. At the same time, the city surprises with its galleries, street art and creative energy. With its green parks, colourful, lively markets and a relaxed urban atmosphere, the Lithuanian capital proves to be diverse and full of surprises.
