The Northern Lights, powder snow and Arctic tranquillity are trending. Eurowings is further expanding its Lapland offering and will launch new flights to Kuusamo in north-eastern Finland for the 2026/2027 winter season. Kuusamo is already the third winter destination following the successful launch of routes to Rovaniemi and Kittilä last season. There will also be more frequent flights to Rovaniemi and Kittilä, offering greater flexibility when planning your holiday.

These three winter destinations will be included in the flight schedule from mid-December onwards, giving travellers the chance to experience a white Christmas in the far north. Rovaniemi is particularly atmospheric, as the famous Santa Claus Village offers a unique Christmas experience.

  • From 20 December 2026 to 14 March 2027, Eurowings will operate a weekly service between BER and Kuusamo, every Sunday.

  • Between 19 December 2026 and 13 March 2027, the Lufthansa subsidiary will fly to Kittilä up to twice a week, every Saturday and, during the high season, on Tuesdays.

  • Between 12 December and 13 March, flights to Rovaniemi will operate up to twice a week from BER, on Saturdays and, from the end of January, also on Wednesdays.

The flight time to all destinations is approximately two hours and 50 minutes. The time difference is one hour ahead. Flights are operated by Airbus A320 aircraft, which can accommodate 180 passengers.

Winter Wonderland

Located in the Finnish Arctic, Kuusamo, Kittilä and Rovaniemi are among the most popular winter destinations in Northern Europe. Kuusamo is the gateway to the Ruka ski resort, while Kittilä is home to the legendary Levi resort. Rovaniemi delights visitors with its blend of Arctic nature and culture, not to mention the famous Santa Claus Village. The region guarantees snow from December well into March. Those looking to hit the slopes will find reliable conditions here. Those wishing to gaze at the night sky may be lucky enough to see the Northern Lights at their seasonal peak. And those seeking the full Lapland experience can visit reindeer farms, go on a husky sled tour or ride a snowmobile through the Arctic landscape.
