New service for Ryanair passengers at BER

Everything via smartphone

Published: 22 July 2025, 12:00

Ryanair passengers can now benefit from an innovative service at BER: in collaboration with technology provider Airware, the airport company has installed four additional self-service kiosks for even more efficient baggage drop-off in Terminal 2 at Berlin Brandenburg Airport.

A smartphone is all you need: The kiosks are equipped with integrated scales and printers for baggage labels. The entire process is controlled exclusively via the Ryanair app. The connection is made via QR code scan, which enables direct communication between the smartphone and kiosk hardware - thanks to a specially developed interface in the app.

The advantages for passengers at a glance

  • Check-in online in advance via the app
  • Weigh baggage & print label directly at the self-service kiosk in Terminal 2 at BER
  • Excess baggage fees are displayed automatically and can be paid directly in the app
  • Means of payment are already personalised and stored in the app
  • No interaction with the ticket counter or chip & pin devices required
  • Language settings & user guidance individually adapted
  • Maximum security and convenience - as everything is done via your own smartphone
