Welcome to BER: The Special Olympics World Games (SOWG), the largest inclusive sporting event in the world, is being hosted in Berlin until 25 June 2023. Thousands of athletes with mental and multiple disabilities compete with each other in 26 categories. The airport company supports this major sporting event as part of its cooperation to help athletes travel to and from BER with as little stress as possible.

Therefore, on certain days public bus stops will be relocated or restrictions to the airport approach may be imposed at Terminal 1 for logistical reasons and to support the athletes.
