The non-stop connection to Newark/New York has been an integral part of the flight offer from the capital region since 2005. The long-haul route was initially served by Continental Airlines from Berlin-Tegel, but has been flown by United Airlines since 2010 following the merger of the two airlines. The connection was suspended in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic and resumed in March 2022.

The US airline is a founding member of Star Alliance™ and is one of the world’s largest airlines. The airline was founded in 1926 and currently has more than 700 aircraft in its fleet, with which it flies to more than 210 destinations in the USA and 120 destinations worldwide. From the Newark/New York (EWR) hub, passengers from BER can access attractive onward destinations, such as Atlanta and Chicago in the USA or Vancouver in Canada.

Please note:
For United flights from BER, the minimum airline check-in time is 75 minutes, regardless of whether you are checking in baggage. The airport company recommends all passengers to always be at the respective terminal at BER two and a half hours before departure.
