Qatar Airways has been flying from Berlin to Qatar since 2005, regularly connecting the capital region with the Qatari capital Doha. The ultra-modern coastal capital on the Persian Gulf is on the airline’s flight schedule year-round. The route is served several times a day in both summer and winter. Qatar Airways currently offers scheduled flights with Boeing 787-9s that seat 311 passengers. Economy and Business classes from BER include modern, completely flat seats, 13-inch touchscreens and excellent on-board catering. Lunch, snacks, drinks and in-flight entertainment are also included in Economy. The flight time from BER to Doha is approx. 5.75 hours and approx. 6.25 hours from Doha to BER.
Qatar Airways took off from Berlin-Tegel to Doha for the first time in winter 2005 and became an integral part of the capital region’s flight offer over the following years. The success of the non-stop connection to the Persian Gulf was reflected in the continuous expansion of the flight offer: the number of flight days was gradually increased and larger aircraft were used. A notable highlight in Qatar Airways’ success story in the region was when an A350 landed on BER’s southern runway in November 2020, marking the official opening of BER’s new runway.
Qatar Airways is Qatar’s national airline. The airline, which has been awarded 5 stars by Skytrax, offers an extensive international route network. Founded in 1997, Qatar Airways currently has a fleet of more than 229 aircraft.
The connection from BER to Doha is interesting for both business travellers and tourists alike. The hub in Doha gives passengers access to attractive connecting flights, from Bangkok in Thailand to Cape Town in South Africa, Bali in Indonesia and Auckland in New Zealand. German citizens can enter Qatar without a visa for 90 days, which is useful for a stopover in the metropolis on the Arabian Peninsula and a subsequent onward flight.
