The Canary Island of La Palma is also known as “Isla Bonita”, the beautiful island, and is the greenest island in the Canary archipelago. It is a natural paradise of volcanic origin with glorious mountains for hiking, black beaches with clear water for swimming and delightful mountain villages to discover. Green nature, dense pine and laurel forests and banana plantations can also be experienced on La Palma in winter. The island’s diverse landscape is also characterised by volcanoes, wild cliffs and deep gorges. The mild climate makes the island off the north-west coast of Africa, which belongs to Spain, a year-round destination. The charming capital Santa Cruz is definitely worth a visit with its historic houses, winding streets and pretty squares.
