BER Biometrics now available at even more checkpoints

Travellers can now also use the contactless service BER Biometrics at the entrances to security controls 1 and 5 in Terminal 1, which are equipped with modern CT technology. Travellers who have registered for BER Biometrics in the SmartDepart app should use the outer access point directly at the glass façade.  

To use BER Biometrics, you must register once in the SmartDepart app. Here's how it works:

  1. Download the app and create a profile
  1. Take a selfie and upload your boarding pass 
  1. Activate facial recognition – done!

You can then use the marked BER Biometrics access points.
