Farewell

to TXL

On Sunday, November 8, 2020, Berlin-Tegel Airport was closed. All air traffic in the capital region is thus concentrated at Berlin Brandenburg Willy Brandt Airport.

All airlines flying from TXL for the last time bid a fitting farewell with a traditional water fountain from the airport fire brigade.

Air France made its first scheduled flight to Tegel with a Lockheed Super Constellation on January 2, 1960. Sixty years later, the circle is complete, as on November 8 at 3 pm, the french airline's aircraft departed for the very last time from TXL for Paris. Rbb television broadcasted live from Tegel Airport.
