Travelers to and from Chemnitz can now take the Intercity to and from BER without changing trains. Deutsche Bahn has extended its Intercity service from Rostock-Warnemünde to Dresden and runs twice daily in each direction to Chemnitz. The journey from Chemnitz to BER Airport takes two and a half hours.
Trains depart daily from Chemnitz at 6:26 am and 8:26 am. They reach Berlin Brandenburg Airport without changing trains at 8:57 am and 10:57 am. In the opposite direction, the white Intercity trains depart from the Capital Airport at 16:59 and 18:59. Arrival in Chemnitz is at 19:31 or 21:31.
The trains stop at the BER Terminal 1-2 station, which is located under the terminal building. From there, passengers can reach the Terminal 1 check-in directly by lift, escalator or stairs in just a few minutes. Terminal 2 is also within walking distance of the station, at a distance of 400 metres.
