Local and long-distance traffic

Restrictions on local and long-distance traffic

Due to construction work, the connection of the airport to local and long-distance traffic is limited in the months of March and April. Please note that there will be deviations from the usual timetable and plan extra time if necessary. This will affect regional rail services as well as connections with the S-Bahn and InterCity. 

Regional train services

  • The Flughafenexpress (FEX) will not stop at Berlin Hauptbahnhof (Berlin Central Station) until 10.03.
  • Due to construction work, there will be the following restrictions between 18.03. and 08.04:

  • The RE7 only runs between Wünsdorf-Waldstadt and BER and between Berlin-Ostbahnhof and Dessau.
  • The RB14 is completely cancelled.
  • There are some route changes on the FEX.
  • There will be a rail replacement service between BER and Blankenfelde on the RE7 line from 3-10 March, from 10 p.m. to 6.30 a.m. Buses will also be running between BER and Wünsdorf-Waldstadt at off-peak times. Arrival/departure will be at BER from bus park B.
  • A rail replacement service will also be provided on the RE7 line from 04.03., approx. 21.30 hrs, to 07.03., approx. 04.15 hrs.
  • From 18.03., approx. 20.30 hrs, to 21.03., approx. 02.15 hrs, a rail replacement service will operate on the RB22 line between Ludwigsfelde-Struveshof and Königs Wusterhausen. 


From 16-18 March 2022, only the S9 will run to the airport on the nights between 9.30 pm and 1.30 am. The S45 does not go to the airport during this time, but runs from Grünau to Südkreuz. On your way to BER, please change to the S9 at Adlershof station at the latest.


The IC17 (Dresden - Rostock) will not stop at BER on 5 and 6 March, all day in each case, and between 18 March, 9 p.m., and 21 March, midnight.
