Winter Flight Schedule 2021/2022

New routes from BER

Published: 29 October 2021, 01:00 PM

The winter flight schedule for 2021/2022 begins on Sunday, October 31, 2021. As in every season, the time change is the key date for changing the flight schedule. Until 26 March 2022, 76 airlines are expected to fly from Berlin Brandenburg Airport to 144 destinations in 54 countries. Popular sun and winter destinations are also on the flight schedule, as are European cities and long-haul routes to the USA and Asia. The largest offer goes to city destinations with and without transfer airports such as Frankfurt, Munich, Amsterdam, Zurich or Istanbul. City trips - whether private or business - are experiencing an uptick again this winter.

Long-haul BER

The elimination of travel restrictions and the gradual opening of some countries and regions around the world, such as Singapore and the USA, to vaccinated travellers, brings long-haul connections back to the capital region.

  • Scoot, the low-cost subsidiary of Singapore Airlines, has been flying direct from BER to Singapore three times a week (Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays) since 20 October 2021. The non-stop connection is made possible by expanding the “travel corridor for vaccinated people” between Germany and Singapore (also called Vaccinated Travel Lane, VLT for short). Non-VLT flights from BER, which re-started in August 2021 via Athens to Singapore, complement the non-stop connection and are available four times a week (Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays). This means travellers can reach Singapore everyday from BER.
  • The re-opening of the USA to vaccinated travellers in November 2021 means long-haul connections across the Atlantic can resume. At the end of the winter flight schedule, United Airlines will return to the capital region and resume long-haul connections to Newark/New York. From 5 March 2022, the connection will again be on the airline's daily flight roster year-round.
  • With the 2022 summer flight schedule, the American airline is expanding its services from BER and will offer daily connections to Washington D.C. from 7 May 2022. This represents the first time that United Airlines has flown this route to the US capital from Berlin-Brandenburg. The flights will initially be operated seasonally until the end of the summer flight schedule. Both routes will be flown by Boeing 767 aircraft.
  • From 20 December Qatar Airways will increase the frequency of its BER - Doha flights. Instead of five times a week, the Qatari capital will be served daily again. It is flown with a Boeing 787-800.
  • This winter, Dubai is just one non-stop flight away. The route to the United Arab Emirates will initially be flown twice a week (Mondays and Thursdays) by the Latvian airline SmartLynx Airlines in partnership with the package tour operator FTI Touristik. From 18 December 2021, the connection will be expanded to include a third weekly flight (Saturdays).
