InterCityHotel to be built

directly on Willy-Brandt-Platz

Construction on the new InterCityHotel is already underway, directly in front of Terminal 1 of Berlin Brandenburg Airport.

Within walking distance of the terminal, Dietz Airport Hotels Grundbesitz GmbH is building a six-storey hotel with around 14,000 square metres of gross floor area. The 3-star hotel will consist of over 357 rooms, a large spa area and 450 square meters of conference space, as well as a restaurant with bistro lounge. The completion and commission of the hotel is scheduled for spring 2022.

The building complements the hotel offer on BER with the 3-star category. At the same time, it continues to develop the area directly in front of BER Terminal 1. A Steigenberger hotel in the 4-star superior category, as well as an office and service centre with the ²BAC, has already been implemented here.

At the same time as the opening of the new airport in October, the go-ahead for real estate marketing was given. The next step is to start marketing the first construction sites in the Midfield Garden district to the east. A mixed-use, urban premium quarter is being created on around 24 hectares in a prime location and within walking distance of the passenger terminal. The quarter offers space for a variety of uses. The focus of development is on office, hotel and congress use as well as airport-related services.
